01 Profile
Nine years designing product surfaces where the hard part is not the screen but the system behind it. I work close to engineering, prototype in the browser when a static file would lie, and treat accessibility as a structural requirement rather than a remediation pass.
Most of my recent work has been in regulated and operational software — the kind used all day by people who did not choose the tool. I am happiest owning a long-lived problem with a small team, and I write things down so the decision survives the reorganisation.

02 Selected work
Three projects that best show how I decide, not just what I shipped.

2023–2025
Meridian Design System Lumen Atlas · Design lead
Replaced four divergent component libraries with one versioned system covering six product surfaces. I owned the token architecture, the contribution model and the migration sequencing, and deliberately shipped the documentation site before the components so teams could argue with the decisions early.

2022–2023
Cartographer field onboarding Lumen Atlas · Product designer
Rebuilt the first-run experience for technicians configuring equipment on site, often offline and one-handed. Research in the field reframed the problem from tutorial quality to recoverability, so the redesign centred on resumable steps and honest error states rather than a guided tour.

2021
Quiet Mode accessibility programme Northbound Health · Designer & facilitator
Ran a cross-team programme that moved accessibility from an end-of-cycle audit into the definition of done: a shared component baseline, keyboard and screen-reader review built into design QA, and a plain-language pattern guide written with clinical staff.
03 Experience
-
2022 — Now
Senior Product Designer Lumen Atlas
- Design lead for the shared system and the platform surfaces that consume it, partnered with two engineering teams.
- Introduced a lightweight design review that pairs a designer and an engineer on every non-trivial change before build.
- Mentor two designers and run the internal critique series.
-
2019 — 2022
Product Designer Northbound Health
- Owned scheduling and care-plan workflows used by clinical coordinators across several partner organisations.
- Established the accessibility baseline and the review ritual that outlived my time on the team.
- Ran contextual research sessions and turned them into shared decision records.
-
2017 — 2019
Interaction Designer Fieldnote Studio
- Client work across logistics, civic services and instrumentation dashboards.
- Built browser prototypes for pitches so that interaction behaviour, not a rendering, was what clients signed off.
-
2016 — 2017
Designer & Front-end Generalist Kite & Copper
- First design hire; covered brand, product and the HTML and CSS that shipped it.
